On October 6, 2011, the Hollywood Reporter announced an untitled film based on the Theodor Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, with Johnny Depp possibly in the lead role. He will also produce the film with Christi Dembrowski, Christopher Meledandri and David Kennedy, Universal Pictures will distribute it, and Keith Bunin will write the screenplay.
