Kohl's Cares for Kids is a merchandise program created by the brand Kohl's as a way to raise money for children's hospitals. The company has featured a series of Dr. Seuss plushes and some collector books over the years. 49 total plushes (including new versions and excluding re-releases) have been released over a span of 17 years, starting in 2003 with the release of tie-in plushes for the live action Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat and the most recent Seuss plush having been released in the 2021 Holiday collection.

2003[]

The first Dr. Seuss plushes made by Kohl's Cares were released in 2003 as movie merchandise for Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat. There are five plushes in total, including The Cat in the Hat (2003 version), Nevins, Carlos K. Krinklebine, and Thing One and Thing Two.

2005[]

Kohl's Cares relased six Dr. Seuss plushes in 2005 along with their respective collector's edition books: The Lorax (character) with The Lorax (book), The Foot Guy with The Foot Book, a bird with a green shirt from Oh, the Thinks you can Think! with the respective book, a whale from If I Ran the Circus with its respective book, the dog from the cover of Go, Dog. Go! with its respective book, and the dog from Are You My Mother? with its respective book.

Note: It is unknown if the Go, Dog. Go! and Are You My Mother? books were collector's edition.

I have been actively collecting these plushes for about a year and a half. Virtually all of what is in this article comes from my own research and experience as a collector (plus the kind soul who created this article in 2008 and filled out the info for that year and 2007).
